How I Approach Projects
Every design starts with research. It’s all about you, so there’s no compromise. The more I know about your organization and your goals for a project, the better my understanding of how to help you.
Preparation is everything. During this stage, I take all the information gathered in the previous step and create a plan of approach, with a basic product definition and an MVP (Minimum Viable Product) roadmap.
This is a quick and easy way to validate ideas. I start by figuring out smaller components, then move onto bigger things. This step is all about refining rough concepts into something more substantial: a solid blueprint to build with.
4. Test & Iterate
Testing allows me to identify design flaws, refine concepts and apply this knowledge to make a better product. It happens during the entire project lifecycle, so if something doesn’t work well, I can quickly find out why and fix it, even if it means going back to a drawing board.
Once we have reached our MVP, tested it thoroughly, we can finally launch it. The best thing to do now, is to listen to user feedback and improve over and over, to make sure your customers enjoy using your product or service, as much as we did building it.
It doesn't stop there. Every design is a living, breathing thing and needs to be continuously monitored and improved to meet–and exceed–user needs.
"I recently worked with Magnus on the launch of the FOCUS Laboratories, Inc. ecommerce platform. Magnus served as the project manager and actively led both design (visual and UX) and development. His process and directions were clear and concise. He took a user-centric approach which resulted in a very successful product, launched on time and under budget. I am excited to work with Magnus on future projects."
"I had the pleasure of working with Magnus on the re-launch of the Paragon BioTeck website. Magnus adeptly managed shifting business and technical requirements to produce a responsive e-commerce application on a short timeline. The process of working with him was seamless on every front, and his competencies extended beyond his stated skill-set. I look forward to working with him on other engagements, and I actively recommend him."
"It’s rare to find a designer as talented as Magnus who also brings a deep background in business strategy to every project he works on. I have been fortunate to work side-by-side with Magnus for the past year at Paragon BioTeck, collaborating on everything from product packaging to websites to sales campaigns. I particularly admire Magnus’ ability to create wholly unique and user-friendly designs that always relate to the overall business objectives, no matter the timeline or budget. Any business looking for graphic, UX design, or web development would benefit greatly by working with Magnus."
